CS:GO is about to have its first Valve-sponsored event since the StarLadder Berlin Major in September 2019 with the PGL Stockholm Major slated to take place between Oct. 23 to Nov. 11. But the PGL Major might not be held in Sweden, PGL’s CEO Silviu Stroie told the Swedish newspaper SportExpressen today. “There is no new development, we can decide any day now to move it from Sweden,” Stroie said in an email to SportExpressen, according to a machine translation. “We are still hopeful of getting the exemption we requested

WePlay Esports confirms Chinese teams have made it home following additional Dota 2 AniMajor travel complications

In order to put on the the second Dota Pro Circuit Major of the 2021 season, WePlay Esports had to organize private flights for all of the Chinese teams that were set to compete due to a change in EU travel policies.  The WePlay AniMajor, which ended on June 13 with PSG.LGD winning the event, went off without any issues in Kyiv, Ukraine. Additional problems started popping up once the Chinese teams were preparing to go home after the Major, however, due to a change in international travel restrictions enacted

MonteCristo on Flashpoint’s role in the scene: “I think it’s really important that one of the tournament organisers is based in NA”

These are exciting times over in the Flashpoint camp. Created in early 2020 to shake up the status quo in Counter-Strike and offer a path to sustainability to both teams and players, the league lacked star power during its first year and could not really establish itself as an alternative to the ESL Pro League, in part because plans to deliver engaging storylines that fans could follow had to be scrapped, or at least placed on hold, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Season 3 will see Flashpoint head in a

Extra Crunch roundup: Coupang and Roblox debut, driving GPT-3 adoption, startup how-tos, more

Extra Crunch publishes a variety of article types, but how-tos are my favorite category. For many entrepreneurs, the startup they are trying to get off the ground might be only the second entry on their resume. As a result, they don’t have much experience to draw from when it comes to basics like hiring, fundraising and growth marketing. Last week, Natasha Mascarenhas interviewed experts who had some strategic advice for finding the right time to bring a product manager on board. This afternoon, we published a guest post by growth

MonteCristo: “I can promise that we will have on Flashpoint the best features that have been made during this pandemic”

Flashpoint will return in early November after more than a six-month break, this time with a Europe-based online tournament that will be covered by an on-air team working out of a studio in London. The new-look Cloud9 roster headlines the lineup of partner teams for the league, which will also feature two big-name qualified sides coming from the CIS — Virtus.pro and forZe — and three top-20 invitees — OG, BIG and fnatic. MonteCristo says that Flashpoint 2 will raise the bar, both in terms of the level of competition

jks: “I’m at the point in my career where I really just want to win a lot of things; this is the reason why I came to Complexity”

Justin "jks" Savage was on Friday announced as the newest addition to Complexity, in which he will fill the spot left vacant by the departure of Owen "oBo" Schlatter. The move sees the Australian close a long chapter as he parts ways with the remnants of the team he had been a part of since he first entered the international scene in 2014. We had a chance to sit down with jks for an in-depth interview, conducted after the first day of practice with his new team, to discuss what
