MTG werewolves and zombies dominate MTGO Standard Challenge tournament

Gruul Magic: The Gathering decks earned four of the top eight placements at the Magic Online Standard Challenge tournament this past weekend.  The digital release of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt (MID) and fall rotation have shifted the digital MTG Standard meta, with werewolves and zombies ranking at the top just one week after launch. The Magic Online Standard Challenge took place over the weekend, showcasing four Red and Green decks, one Mono-White, an Orzhov Adventure, and a Dimir Zombie deck.  Here were the top eight standings from the MTGO Standard Challenge

Best MTG RW Humans to go Aggro with in Innistrad

The release of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt on MTG Arena has opened the door for humans to go Aggro in Magic: The Gathering Standard.  Powerful humans are in abundance via the new MTG Standard-legal set, Innistrad: Midnight Hunt (MID). The color White gained the most tools, pairable with colors Green, Black, and Red. Aggro builds perform exceptionally well during the first few weeks of an MTG set release, giving birth to the RW Human Bonk deck.  RW Human Aggro MTG main deck three MID creatures (and one spell) elevate the RW

Best MTG Blue/Black Innistrad deck for Draft and Sealed in Midnight Hunt

Zombies are returning to the Magic: The Gathering Limited format via Innistrad: Midnight Hunt as sacrificial tools and graveyard haters.  The digital launch of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt (MID) on Sept. 16 highlighted a number of worthy archetypes to play in the MTG Limited format, with UB zombies standing out from the pack. The color Black is packed with solid removal and creatures that synergize with the zombie theme. And Blue does what it does best—disrupting an opponent’s strategy, stealing life points with evasive creatures, and sliming non-horror creatures.  From staple

12 Best MID Limited cheap combat tricks and removal at Common and Uncommon

Instant Magic: The Gathering combat tricks and removal spells can make or break an Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Limited deck build. Humans fighting back the creatures that stir in the night is the theme of Innistrad: Midnight Hunt (MID). Creature-heavy builds rely upon solid combat tricks to gain an advantage over their opponent while tempo and slower decks use cheap removal to prevent those tricks from ever taking place. From burning an opponent directly to -13/-13 stats, here are the 12 best MID Limited Common/Uncommon rarity combat tricks and removal cards.

7 best MTG Midnight Hunt mana fixers for Limited

Adding mana fixers within the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Limited format provides an opportunity to splash powerful gold Magic: The Gathering cards and removal.  Scheduled to launch digitally on Sept. 16 with a pre-release event taking place on Sept. 17, Innistrad: Midnight Hunt (MID) contains a total of 10 two-color archetypes. Running additional colors can add key cards to these existing builds that provide an advantage over opponents. There are over 10 mana-fixing options in MID with seven standing out as the best splashers to play in Sealed or to pick

All rare Werewolf cards in MTG’s Innistrad: Midnight Hunt

Werewolves are one of the flagship creatures of MTG’s plane Innistrad, and for the game’s latest trip to the plane, all five colors are receiving a transforming Werewolf creature. All five of the creature cards are rare Humans that transform back and forth between their Human and Werewolf forms via Daybound and Nightbound triggers. In MTG, Daybound is a transform trigger that comes if a player does not cast a spell during their turn. Conversely, Nightbound triggers transform a creature if a player casts multiple spells during their own turn.

Best colorless Limited Innistrad: Midnight Hunt Artifacts

There are only eight total colorless Artifacts within the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt set, and a few are worth picking up in Limited Draft.  Artifacts often get slotted into sideboards within the Limited format or are overlooked altogether. The Innistrad: Midnight Hunt (MID) meta may elevate several of the colorless cards due to graveyard hate, mana fixing for archetypes running three or more colors, and synergy with the new Daybound/Nightbound mechanic.  None of these colorless Artifacts are first picks, but there are a total of five that stand out as playable

Best Limited Innistrad: Midnight Hunt archetypes and support cards

The Innistrad: Midnight Hunt set supports a number of Magic: The Gathering Draft archetypes. Scheduled to release digitally on Sept. 16, Innistrad: Midnight Hunt (MID) contains two non-legendary Uncommon cards for each of the 10 total archetypes. One is a spell with the returning MTG mechanic Flashback, and the other is a creature that supports the archetype’s synergy. Archetype signpost cards are typically legendary creatures, but that isn’t the case in MID, allowing players to Draft multiple copies without them being a dead card in hand. A total of four
