Throughout the course of Warzone’s 12-season lifespan, its community has seen its flagship battle royale map, Verdansk, go from modern day to 1984 depending on which Call of Duty title was in the limelight.

When it was first announced that Warzone would be receiving a new map in November to not only replace Verdansk, but also signal the beginning of full integration between Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone, it has certainly made sense since then to assume that the new offering would take players even further back in time. According to a new Warzone leaker, however, this doesn’t appear to be the case.

With the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard nearly just a week away, the days are certainly also counting down to when players will seemingly have to say goodbye to Verdansk once and for all.

Despite this, it’s oddly been a bit of a barren wasteland when it comes to leaks of the title’s upcoming Pacific map.

Thanks to @BreadisModding on Twitter, however, we might have one unannounced detail already revealed — the upcoming Warzone Pacific map is not set in World War II.

Bread also went on to mention that they don’t know if the new map is going to remain set in the 1980s of Black Ops Cold War, or going back to the 2020s of Modern Warfare, but with how “everything is set already” in Warzone, Pacific “can’t really go into a 1940s setting.”

Although Bread also mentioned that Call of Duty fans should take this information with a grain of salt until it’s confirmed, they also outlined how they got the leak from a “good source,” and that they pride themselves on not saying anything that’s incorrect or too early to where it could be changed.
