The games have continued in the two decades since, most recently with the release of <a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2019\/06\/09\/fallout-76-is-getting-a-52-player-battle-royale-mode\/\">\u201cFallout 76.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The show \u2014 currently in development, with a series commitment from <a class=\"crunchbase-link\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/crunchbase.com\/organization\/amazon-studios\" data-type=\"organization\" data-entity=\"amazon-studios\">Amazon <span class=\"crunchbase-tooltip-indicator\"><\/span><\/a> Studios \u2014 is part of Nolan and Joy\u2019s overall deal with streaming service, which they signed last year for <a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2019\/tv\/news\/jonathan-nolan-lisa-joy-amazon-overall-deal-1203181858\/\">a reported $150 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2016\/09\/29\/hbo-westworld\/\">husband-and-wife team<\/a> is best known for creating <a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2016\/10\/02\/westworld-review\/\">HBO\u2019s new version of \u201cWestworld\u201d<\/a> (based on a Michael Crichton film from the 1970s). They\u2019re also working on an adaptation of William Gibson\u2019s novel \u201cThe Peripheral.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFallout is one of the greatest game series of all time,\u201d Nolan and Joy said in a statement. \u201cEach chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends.
