Revealed during Nintendo’s latest Indie World stream, No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games’ latest, smaller project, The Last Campfire, is coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One and PS4 in Summer 2020.

A new gameplay trailer for the game was shown during the stream, introducing players to Ember–a creature attempting to navigate through various puzzling environments in search of a way home. Hello Games’ emphasizes that the journey is more than just about reaching the destination, with Ember unraveling a meaning to life and rekindling hope in a hopeless world.

The Last Campfire is being developed by a much smaller team within Hello Games than that of No Man’s Sky, with the studio hinting at more similarly-sized projects in the future. Hello Games is seeking to recapture a time within the studio before the popularity of No Man’s Sky and the production it required, letting the team experiment with new ideas and express themselves more emotionally through their work.

Hello Games will reveal more detail about The Last Campfire’s gameplay and story in the coming months leading up to release. The studio is also continuing to work on No Man’s Sky, which recently received an update that introduced living spaceships.
