It looks like Disgaea<\/a>: Afternoon of Darkness<\/strong> might be coming to the PS Plus Premium catalog soon. An entry for the PSP tactical RPG recently appeared on the Japanese PlayStation Store<\/a>. However, neither Sony nor NIS<\/a> have made a release announcement yet.<\/p>\n

A Japanese PlayStation Store page appeared showing Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness for PSP would be coming to PS4 and PS5. Unfortunately, its listed release date is June 29. 2022, which is obviously not correct.<\/p>\n

Disgaea wouldn\u2019t be the first PS Classic with a bit of mystery surrounding it. Both Ridge Racer 2 and Dino Crisis<\/a> were prominently featured during the run-up to the launch of PS Plus Premium, and they still haven\u2019t been released. There\u2019s also the question of whether the game will be added to the service outside of Japan. Since there are region-exclusive titles on PS Plus Premium, there\u2019s no guarantee we\u2019ll get Disgaea in the West.<\/p>\n

One thing in favor of a US release of Disgaea is the fact that Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance is already available for PS Plus Extra and Premium customers. NIS and Sony have had a close relationship over the years, and it\u2019d make sense to bring more of its games to the service.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, if Disgaea gets released, it looks like it\u2019ll lose some functionality. The (roughly) translated store description reads:<\/p>\n

This software converts the PSP\u2122 (PlayStation\u00ae Portable) version to PlayStation\u00ae 4 and PlayStation\u00ae 5, and adds new features. It may be different from the PSP\u2122 (PlayStation\u00ae Portable) version, and some functions may not work properly. This software does not support the PSP\u2122 (PlayStation\u00ae Portable) version of peripherals, so some functions may not be available.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Additionally, it says \u201cOffline play support\u201d on the page, which means multiplayer options are likely gone. However, it does describe new features like uprendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters, which is a decent trade.<\/p>\n

In other news, the No Man\u2019s Sky Endurance update improves freighters<\/a>, and you can buy BioWare\u2019s Anthem for a penny<\/a>.<\/p>\n
