{"id":1754171,"date":"2022-07-28T06:01:15","date_gmt":"2022-07-28T10:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/?post_type=station&#038;p=1754171"},"modified":"2022-08-01T00:43:35","modified_gmt":"2022-08-01T04:43:35","slug":"diablo-immortal-passes-100m-revenue-after-just-eight-weeks","status":"publish","type":"station","link":"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/plato-data\/diablo-immortal-passes-100m-revenue-after-just-eight-weeks\/","title":{"rendered":"Diablo Immortal passes $100m revenue after just eight weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Diablo-Immortal_0tejWnQ-1-scaled.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\" alt=\"image\" \/><\/div>\n<p>\nBlizzard and NetEase&#8217;s Diablo Immortal has notched up $100m in player spending after two months, almost entirely without the game&#8217;s Chinese market.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThat&#8217;s according to reliable app store analytics firm <a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sensortower.com\/blog\/diablo-immortal-mobile-100-million-revenue\">Sensor Tower<\/a>, which compared Diablo Immortal&#8217;s start to that of Pok\u00e9mon Go (which took just two weeks to rake in $100m) and Fire Emblem Heroes (10 weeks).\n<\/p>\n<p>\nDiablo Immortal revenues now seem set to accelerate, since the app arrived belatedly in China this week.\n<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>Diablo Immortal&#8217;s launch trailer.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\nIn China, Diablo Immortal ranked as the most-downloaded game via the Apple App Store for its first two days, and among the top three highest-grossing titles for both.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThe game had been set to arrive in China closer to its Western versions, but <a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/diablo-immortal-chinese-release-delayed-just-days-before-launch\">ultimately received a last-minute delay<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nAt the time, NetEase suggested the holdup was its own choice, with extra time necessary to improve the game.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nBut a subsequent <a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/diablo-immortal-china-delay-due-to-winnie-the-pooh-social-media-post-report-suggests\">report stated the delay was imposed by China<\/a> after the game&#8217;s now-closed social media account posted an image of Winnie the Pooh, a character used to reference the country&#8217;s president.
