Specifically, this minor dungeon can be found along the western edge of Liurnia of the Lakes. While appearing straightforward at first, Road\u2019s End Catacombs has quite a few <strong>illusory walls<\/strong> to contend with. <\/p>\n<p>Plus, it contains some <a rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dualshockers.com\/elden-ring-best-spirit-ashes\/\">great Spirit Ashes<\/a> and a strong Strength weapon in the <strong>Watchdog\u2019s Staff<\/strong>. Make sure you are carrying a <strong>torch<\/strong> or have a <strong>lantern<\/strong> equipped at your belt\u2014Road\u2019s End Catacombs is crawling with sneaky Imps who like to leap out of the shadows. Case in point, when you first reach the corner junction, watch out for an <strong>aggressive Imp<\/strong> leaping toward you. Ahead, you will spot the dungeon lever. <strong>Pull the lever<\/strong>, and you will be rewarded with the familiar message \u201cSomewhere, a heavy door has opened\u201d and the sound of the boss door opening somewhere in the dungeon\u2014now you just need to find it.<\/p>\n<p>From this level, head down the stairs to the floor below and collect the <strong>Grave Glovewort [2]<\/strong> and two <strong>Grave Glovewort [3]<\/strong>. An Imp ambusher waits in the <strong>alcove<\/strong> on the left, and a <strong>pressure plate trap<\/strong> sits at the hall intersection. Stepping on the plate will send three arrows shooting toward you from down the hall. Defeat the Imp and loot the Grave Glovewort [2] in the alcove.<\/p>\n<p>Proceed into the next room and loot the Grave Glovewort [2] just to the right as you enter. Continue around the room\u2019s central pillar to the far side and loot the <strong>Grave Glovewort [3]<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/elden-ring-roads-end-catacombs-illusory-dead-end-1024x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"elden ring catacombs illusory wall\" class=\"wp-image-915445 amp-wp-enforced-sizes i-amphtml-layout-intrinsic i-amphtml-layout-size-defined\" \/><i class=\"i-amphtml-sizer\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"i-amphtml-intrinsic-sizer\" role=\"presentation\" src=\"image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyBoZWlnaHQ9IjUxMiIgd2lkdGg9IjEwMjQiIHhtbG5zPSJodHRwOi8vd3d3LnczLm9yZy8yMDAwL3N2ZyIgdmVyc2lvbj0iMS4xIi8+\" \/><\/i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/elden-ring-roads-end-catacombs-illusory-dead-end-1024x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"elden ring catacombs illusory wall\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>You\u2019ll notice an alcove dead-ending at the far side of this room. This is your <strong>first illusory wall<\/strong> of the dungeon. Strike at it to reveal the room beyond\u2014you\u2019ll spot an altar at the far side with a chest waiting for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Be wary<\/strong>: you will encounter <strong>three Imps<\/strong> in this room. One will drop down from the wall at the far end, pulling your attention, but there are two more Imps acting like statues, flanking either side of the room\u2019s entrance.<\/p>\n<p>After clearing the three Imps, head over to the altar and loot the chest, earning yourself the <strong>Raya Lucaria Soldier Ashes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This path has now reached its end, yet still no boss door. <strong>Retrace your steps<\/strong> back the way you came (and be careful of the <strong>pressure plate trap<\/strong> in the hallway).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/elden-ring-roads-end-catacombs-illusory-walls-landing-1024x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"elden ring indicator of illusory walls\" class=\"wp-image-915450 amp-wp-enforced-sizes i-amphtml-layout-intrinsic i-amphtml-layout-size-defined\" \/><i class=\"i-amphtml-sizer\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"i-amphtml-intrinsic-sizer\" role=\"presentation\" src=\"image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyBoZWlnaHQ9IjUxMiIgd2lkdGg9IjEwMjQiIHhtbG5zPSJodHRwOi8vd3d3LnczLm9yZy8yMDAwL3N2ZyIgdmVyc2lvbj0iMS4xIi8+\" \/><\/i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/elden-ring-roads-end-catacombs-illusory-walls-landing-1024x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"elden ring indicator of illusory walls\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Pause at the bottom of the first set of stairs you come across. You see that <strong>glowing blue torch<\/strong> on the wall? The two bricked-over alcoves just to its left are <strong>illusory walls<\/strong>. Inside the newly revealed room, you will find <strong>two Imps<\/strong>\u2014one on the left and one on the right. They like to jump on your back with a vicious grab attack, so be careful. After defeating the two Imps, you will find one Grave Glovewort [3], one Human Bone Shard, and <strong>Watchdog\u2019s Staff<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite what the name would imply, Watchdog\u2019s Staff is actually a <strong>Strength weapon<\/strong>, and a pretty great one at that.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/elden-ring-roads-end-catacombs-illusory-walls-next-landing-up-1024x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"elden ring catacombs more illusory walls\" class=\"wp-image-915454 amp-wp-enforced-sizes i-amphtml-layout-intrinsic i-amphtml-layout-size-defined\" \/><i class=\"i-amphtml-sizer\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"i-amphtml-intrinsic-sizer\" role=\"presentation\" src=\"image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyBoZWlnaHQ9IjUxMiIgd2lkdGg9IjEwMjQiIHhtbG5zPSJodHRwOi8vd3d3LnczLm9yZy8yMDAwL3N2ZyIgdmVyc2lvbj0iMS4xIi8+\" \/><\/i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/elden-ring-roads-end-catacombs-illusory-walls-next-landing-up-1024x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"elden ring catacombs more illusory walls\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Now that you\u2019ve cleared out this room, head up the next set of stairs and pause at the next landing. Face the corner to the right of the stairs. From left to right, the <strong>first and fourth alcoves<\/strong> are illusory walls. Inside, you\u2019ll find a single patrolling Imp, one Ghost Glovewort [2], and one Rune Arc. Facing the 4<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;alcove, you\u2019ll see the path forward\u2014a <strong>thin hallway<\/strong> leading deeper into the catacombs.<\/p>\n<p>Head down this hallway to where it dead-ends at the bottom. Loot the <strong>Root Resin<\/strong> off of the corpse, then swing at yet another illusory wall of the dungeon to reveal the room beyond. Follow the stairs down, around the corner, and a <strong>Grave Glovewort [2]<\/strong> at\u2014you guessed it\u2014another illusory wall. Luckily, this is the final one. Beyond, you\u2019ll spy the <strong>familiar boss doors<\/strong>, already opened from when you pulled the lever back at the beginning of the dungeon.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-boss-spirit-caller-snail\">Boss: Spirit-Caller Snail<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/elden-ring-roads-end-catacombs-spirit-caller-snail-boss-1024x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"elden ring boss fight with Spirit-Caller Snail and spirit Crucible Knight\" class=\"wp-image-915456 amp-wp-enforced-sizes i-amphtml-layout-intrinsic i-amphtml-layout-size-defined\" \/><i class=\"i-amphtml-sizer\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"i-amphtml-intrinsic-sizer\" role=\"presentation\" src=\"image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyBoZWlnaHQ9IjUxMiIgd2lkdGg9IjEwMjQiIHhtbG5zPSJodHRwOi8vd3d3LnczLm9yZy8yMDAwL3N2ZyIgdmVyc2lvbj0iMS4xIi8+\" \/><\/i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/elden-ring-roads-end-catacombs-spirit-caller-snail-boss-1024x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"elden ring boss fight with Spirit-Caller Snail and spirit Crucible Knight\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>This boss is a bit irregular, but a fairly simple one. When you first enter, you\u2019ll be met with a very <strong>aggressive spirit Crucible Knight<\/strong> wielding the Siluria\u2019s Tree spear weapon. Be wary of this enemy\u2014he can do quite a bit of damage\u2014but he is not your primary target. You can attack him and defeat him, but he will simply reappear again. Instead, look around the room for a small spot with a <strong>white glow<\/strong> about it. This white glow marks your true target: the Spirit-Caller Snail.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/elden-ring-roads-end-catacombs-boss-fight-white-glow-1024x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"elden ring spirit Crucible Knight and white glow (indicating Spirit-Caller Snail)\" class=\"wp-image-915455 amp-wp-enforced-sizes i-amphtml-layout-intrinsic i-amphtml-layout-size-defined\" \/><i class=\"i-amphtml-sizer\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"i-amphtml-intrinsic-sizer\" role=\"presentation\" src=\"image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyBoZWlnaHQ9IjUxMiIgd2lkdGg9IjEwMjQiIHhtbG5zPSJodHRwOi8vd3d3LnczLm9yZy8yMDAwL3N2ZyIgdmVyc2lvbj0iMS4xIi8+\" \/><\/i><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/platogaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/elden-ring-roads-end-catacombs-boss-fight-white-glow-1024x512-1.jpg\" alt=\"elden ring spirit Crucible Knight and white glow (indicating Spirit-Caller Snail)\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>When you strike the <strong>Spirit-Caller Snail<\/strong>, it will appear for a short moment before disappearing again and teleporting to a different location in the boss arena. Hunt the white glow down again, avoiding the aggressions of the Crucible Knight, and continue to strike at the Spirit-Caller Snail when you can.
