I’m cheating a bit. I babbled about horror-related stuff earlier in the month. But I’m doing it again because, one, I make the rules, and two, this weekend actually is Halloween.
It’s sort-of a month-long festival of horrors for some people. But for the rest it’s simply one day a year, 31st October. I’m not celebrating in any way, because I’m old and boring now. Maybe I’ll watch a few horror films or play a spooky game or two.
Speaking of scary games: yesterday we published a round-up of 10 horror games (or horror-adjacent games) that have been released in 2021. If you’re looking for something good to play this weekend, please do check it out.

One of the games I wrote about on that list is Inscryption, developed by Daniel Mullins (Pony Island) and published by Devolver. It’s… something rather special. I’ve only dipped my toe in so far, having played enough to know that by god, I absolutely need to play more. There’s much more to it than initially meets the eye, and I can’t wait to see what twists and turns await. Perhaps that’s exactly what I’ll do this weekend as my Halloween treat.
Whatever you decide to do this Halloween, have a good one.
