Sci-fi action RPG Elex II now has a March release date and a cool, if pricey, special edition.
Elex II is, unsurprisingly, the sequel to Elex, a game that had potential but “needed much more time in the oven to be the game its promising previews made it seem to be.” Will this follow-up fix things? You’ll be able to find out next March, which is when Elex II lands on PC and console.
Like the original, it’ll cast you as hero Jax, soaring around the world on a jetpack and defeating evil by shooting it in the face. Developer Piranha Bytes promises you’ll “..experience a story where your actions have consequences, immersing you in a world of moral decisions.” We hope they’re talking about proper consequences, such as NPCs refusing to co-operate, instead of them verbally berating you then deciding to help anyway.

On top of the vanilla version of Elex II, you’ll also be able to purchase the Elex II Collector’s Edition which, aside from the game, will include the following:
- A 9,2-inch Alb Figurine
- The original soundtrack
- The official artbook
- A 2-inch “Cleric Amulett” key chain
- A Steelbook
- A concept album by Björn Pankratz, “Cassandra”
The Colllector’s Edition will be available from Amazon UK at some point but right now you can only purchase it through the Elex website, for the princely sum of €149.99. Whatever edition you choose, Elex II will be released March 1st 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
We’re still holding out for a special Elex II bathroom accessories set, though.
