Japan’s Pokemon Mania Continues With Adorable Slowpoke Ferry Ship, Hotel Rooms, & Buses

Japan definitely loves Pokemon, and Kagawa Prefecture on the island of Shikoku has a unique affinity with Slowpoke.

The Pokemon Company and the prefectural government have an agreement to promote local tourism since 2018 and the special project “Yadon Paradise Kagawa” has just been announced today with a press release. If you’re wondering, “Yadon” is Slowpoke’s Japanese name.

The initiative includes a ferry ship with plenty of Slowpoke-themed decorations transporting passengers between Takamatsu and Tonosho, three different Slowpoke Buses from Takamatsu Airport, and even hotel rooms.

If you stay at the Takamatsu Tokyu Rei Hotel, the Kotohira Onsen Kotosankaku, the Marugame Plaza Hotel, or the Shodoshima International Hotel, starting today you can reserve the Slowpoke room, to sleep comfortably with the sleepiest Pokemon. You’ll even receive a special towel to bring home as a memento.

On top of that, at Takamatsu Airport you’ll be able to take a picture with Slowpoke and Alolan Slowpoke thanks to a cutout panel on the first floor of the arrival lobby.

lastly, a special version of the 2014 song Donaiyanen Yadon performed by Hiro has been published and you can check it out below, with lovely sights of Kagawa prefecture and the Slowpoke attractions it offers.

You can also take a look at the attractions mentioned above in an extensive gallery.
