AWS partners with Champion of Champions Tour

IT service management company Amazon Web Services (AWS) has partnered with the Champion of Champions Tour (CCT), a global CS:GO tournament circuit commissioned by esports data platform GRID Esports.

As a result of the deal, AWS became the circuit’s official cloud infrastructure provider from 2022 until 2024.

The tournament will use AWS’ data insights to create broadcast improvements, alongside widgets that add additional context to the data. In addition, the data collected will enable CCT to create a dedicated tournament hub featuring a variety of information.

In July, the tournament and its founding partners (which includes the likes of Relog Media, Fantasy Expo and FACEIT) began a search for regional CS:GO leagues that will provide teams to take part in the main circuit. Open qualifications for regional tournaments started in July 2022, with the CCT Global Finals still scheduled to occur at the beginning of 2024.

The deal marks AWS’ second foray into the esports market after collaborating with tournament organiser EGL to improve its mobile tournament offerings.

For CCT, the company becomes its third partner, joining CS:GO skin marketplace Bitskins and interactive broadcast solutions provider StreamCards.
