15 More Dynamic Open World Games You Need To Play

Making a great open world game is easier said than done, but even more difficult is making the kind of open world game where the world itself relies on reactivity or systems rather than simply presenting players with static, wide open spaces that remain unchanged throughout the experience. Thankfully, there have been several games over the years that have done just that. A couple of years ago, we highlighted some such games in a similar feature, but there are still plenty of games (some that have come out since then) that deserve to be on that list as well- so here, we’ll be talking about 15 more open worlds that impressed us with their dynamism. Obviously, the games we mentioned in our previous list aren’t going to be mentioned here, so if you don’t see something like Breath of the Wild or Metal Gear Solid 5, don’t… don’t flip out.

RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game of two halves. If you stick to the story missions exclusively, it’s a pretty linear, tightly scripted game, but those who want to mess about in its sandbox will find a game built on completely opposite design principles. Excellent NPC AI and a systems-driven open world combine in an experience that never fails to surprise, constantly putting players in situations that react to your actions in surprising ways.
