2021 ATS Picks for You in NFL Week 10

Picking against the point spread allows you to stick with a favorite and get more betting value (if you think your sports betting choice will cover that spread). In the NFL, it is unusual to see a point spread much larger than a touchdown, although in Week 10 this year we see a number of heavy favorites.

Let’s take a look at some of your best spread picks going into the weekend.

NFL News: ATS Picks for You in Week 10

Minnesota Vikings (+2.5) at L.A. Chargers

Sunday, November 14
The Vikings are an enigma of a team, one that has to frustrate sports bettors as well as fans. Against the Baltimore Ravens last week, they roared out to a 17-3 lead…only to fall behind, 31-24, and then to tie the game and force overtime…where they lost despite getting an interception in the extra frame. There are drives when Kirk Cousins looks transcendent, and there are drives when he looks absolutely pedestrian. This is why he gets big contracts, and this is also why his teams tend to fall short at the wrong time.

The Chargers have had some yips this season, with home losses to Dallas and New England, but Justin Herbert continues to grow as a quarterback. The Chargers got in a dogfight last week in Philadelphia but came out with a quality win over a plucky Eagles team. As Herbert continues to grow in confidence with late-game consistency, the Chargers will continue their push for a wild card — if not a division title.

Kansas City Chiefs (-2.5) at Las Vegas Raiders

Sunday Night Football | Sunday, November 14
The Chiefs are benefiting here from the meltdown that the Raiders went through last week in their loss to the Giants. They’re also benefiting from the fact that the sports betting public thinks more highly of them than they should. Don’t be fooled by that 13-7 win that the Chiefs posted against the Packers last week. Remember — the Packers were using backup quarterback Jordan Love. So while the Chiefs defense got some kudos for blitzing Love over and over again (and deserved those kudos), that approach would not have worked against Aaron Rodgers.

Derek Carr is not on the same level with Rodgers, but he is having a terrific year throwing the ball, and the Chiefs’ secondary is extremely porous. The Raiders should follow the same strategy that other teams have used to slow down Patrick Mahomes this season: drop seven or eight into coverage and dare him to beat you, using two deep safeties. That approach has lured Mahomes into mistake after mistake this season. He didn’t have any turnovers against Green Bay, but he also struggled to lead sustained drives.

L.A. Rams (-4) at San Francisco 49ers

Monday Night Football | Monday, November 15
Why would the 49ers be four-point home underdogs in an NFC West rivalry game that is typically very tight? Because they went down to Arizona last week and lost to a Cardinals team guided by backup quarterback Colt McCoy. Now just 3-5, the 49ers have taken on water in recent weeks.

The Rams got trucked by the Tennessee Titans last week, as the Titans once again went against form and demolished a favorite despite facing adversity (this time in the loss of bruising tailback Derrick Henry). The Titans did it with defense, taking advantage of Matthew Stafford’s interceptions (including a pick-six). Is Stafford starting to regress to his form in Detroit, which featured lots of gunslinging greatness — as well as the backbreaking turnover? It would be hard to make that judgment on the basis of one tough loss. I like the Rams — who now have Von Miller added to an already stifling defense — to take care of business in the division.
