$4m Bail Set for Nevada Casino Thieves Who Shot at Police

Two men who allegedly robbed a Nevada casino and shot at police officers while trying to escape had a court hearing on Wednesday.

As his lawyer did not appear, Andrew Toomey – one of the suspects – has to have an arraignment hearing on August 9 instead. The other suspect, Chase Henderson, had his arraignment and will be attending a status hearing next month.

Both men have spent time in prison previously for robbery

The judge set bail at $2.5m for Henderson and $1.5m for Toomey. Both men have spent time in prison previously for robbery offenses.

The robbery took place early on Friday morning at the COD Casino in Minden, Nevada. They got away with an undisclosed sum of money. Deputies discovered the getaway car nearby before Henderson allegedly opened fire, hitting one of the patrol cars.

Police eventually tracked the suspects down to a nearby neighborhood, hiding in different yards. Both face charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, while Henderson is facing additional charges of battery on an officer and attempted homicide of an officer.
