A new Mario Strikers game is coming to Switch

Nintendo has announced Mario Strikers Battle League Football for the Nintendo Switch. Coming on June 10, 2022, it’s the third game in the Mario Strikers series, and the first new Strikers game in 15 years.

Announced during the February Nintendo Direct, Mario Strikers Battle League Football (known as just Mario Strikers Battle League outside of Europe), features eight-player local co-op on a single Nintendo Switch console, or up to 20 players can join a club and play online. There are also some light RPG elements, with different equipable gear that affects characters’ stats, and a big new special move called a Hyper Strike.

Mario Strikers first started on the GameCube with Super Mario Strikers, which was reasonably well-received. After that came Mario Strikers Charged for the Wii, which was similarly well-received. Let’s hope that Battle League Football is at least as good as those two.
