An Activision source has confirmed that Call of Duty: Vanguard will not launch with a mode exclusive to PlayStation consoles, per CharlieIntel.

Although it’s hardly typical for Call of Duty games to feature platform-exclusive game modes, the last two entries in the series have offered special game modes to PlayStation players before they were made available to the rest of the Call of Duty community on Xbox and PC.

In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the Special Ops Survival mode was only available on PlayStation for the first year of the game’s launch. The game mode pit teams of four up against AI enemies on Multiplayer maps.

Call of Duty: Black Ops continued that trend with a Zombies mode called Onslaught that launched exclusively to PlayStation users. In Onslaught, a team of two players would fight off wave after wave of increasingly difficult zombie attacks. The longer they survived the horde’s advance, the more exclusive rewards they would receive. Onslaught is set to be released to Xbox and PC users Nov. 1.

Although the relationship between Activision and PlayStation remains strong — PlayStation users had early access to Vanguard’s beta — it won’t result in another exclusive game mode this time around.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is set for release Nov. 5.
