Alone in the Dark Temple Puzzle Solution

Alone in the Dark is an old-fashioned game in which there are a myriad of different puzzles to complete. However, some of them may take longer than others because they are structured in such a way that they are divided into several parts. An example is the Alone in the Dark temple puzzle. This puzzle is probably one of the longest to solve, but not necessarily the most difficult. In this article, we will tell you step-by-step what you need to do to reach the solution.

Alone in the Dark Temple Puzzle

As soon as you have solved the Alone in the Dark sarcophagus puzzle inside the house where you met Jeremy, passing through the sarcophagus, you will be catapulted into a desert. What you will have to do here is walk until you see the temple through a hole in the ground. Here, you will have to go to the tents located nearby to retrieve a rope to be able to go down inside the temple.

Once inside the temple, take a few moments to carefully study the composition of the room. Right in front of you is a huge statue of the Dark Man. On the sides, there are closed doors that will have to be opened as you complete the puzzle and on the second floor, there are other doors with three small statues that you will have to move to activate the doors. To be able to move these statues, you will need to have three lenses, so let’s see in detail what you have to do to obtain them.

#1 Lens

First, to solve this Alone in the Dark puzzle, you will have to head in the direction of the Dark Man statue and activate the lever located to its left. In doing so, if you turn around with the statue behind you, you will realize that a door will have opened on the right. Pay attention to the bats that will come out from inside and continue following the road until you reach a room with a small statue and a chest.

The next step to take is to take the lens that is inside the chest and place it on the statue. Activate the lever located right next to the entrance to the room and move the beam of light towards the blue gem located in the room to open the door. At this point, go up the stairs to the top and then immediately turn left, which is where another of those small statues is located. Interact with it and place the light beam on the door, which is all the way to the right (you will recognize it because it has a bright blue gem).

#2 Lens

To find the second lens, go in the direction of the door that has just opened (just follow the road and go around) and as soon as you enter inside, break the red tiles that block the first room. Once inside the room, activate the lever and move the light beam of the small statue on the chest so that you can open it and obtain the lens with the star symbol.

Now, go back and exit the door from which you came and then go up the stairs that are on the left and which allow you to reach the small central statue, the one in the direction of the large statue of the Dark Man. Place the lens on it and move the light beam (kill the enemies in the meantime so they won’t bother you) towards the door located to the right of the large statue.

#3 Lens

Once you’ve done this, you’ll need to go down into the main room. Then, go in the direction of the first small statue you activated, follow the road, and enter the newly opened door. Be careful because a couple of enemies will come out and attack you, so be ready to kill them with one of the firearms that you have collected during your adventure in Alone in the Dark.

Once you have killed the enemies, go down the stairs until you see a room on your right. Enter the room and you will see a small statue and a giant eye on the left. Interact with the statue and point the light beam right in the direction of the eye on the left. But that’s not all; in order to obtain the third lens to solve the Alone in the Dark temple puzzle, there is another step to take.

Exit the room you are in, and continue to the next small statue. Position the light beam on the chest so that you can open it. Interact with it and take the third lens found inside it. At this point, you have all three lenses available and you can move towards the conclusion of this Alone in the Dark temple puzzle.

Solve the Puzzle

To solve the Alone in the Dark temple puzzle, go back and head practically to the other side of the balcony, which is where the only statue you haven’t interacted with is located. To be precise, the one on the right side if we consider having our face directed towards the Dark Man statue. Place the third lens on the small statue and direct the light beam towards the small gem on the right of the head of the large statue.

Now head towards the small central statue and direct the beam of light towards the large gem on the head of the Dark Man. Finally, go towards the last remaining small statue and direct the beam of light on the gem located on the left of the head of the large statue. From the position you are in, go straight and then take the first door on the left. Go up the stairs and drop onto the Dark Man’s head to direct the light beam towards the floor, right where the blue light is.

Once this is done, you will have basically finished the Alone in the Dark temple puzzle. All you have to do is go back down to the main room on the lower level and interact with the hideout that was under the blue light on the floor. However, be careful during your descent because not only will the temple begin to collapse, but enemies will also appear to slow you down.

You can very well decide not to face them, as most of them are very slow and will not have time to catch you. As for the path to follow to return to the lower floor, you will be obliged. The game itself will guide you to your destination, so even if you don’t remember how to get down, don’t worry. Once you get down, interact with the marked location, and you will get a dagger and some documents before being transported away again and continuing your adventure in Alone in the Dark.
