Angry Birds Journey is the latest game in the Angry Birds franchise to land on mobile. It’s a simpler, more relaxed affair than some of the other games in the series. But don’t let that fool you – there are still some tricky, piggy puzzles waiting for the unwary. 

Which is why we thought it was a good idea to write this here guide. We’ve played a good few hours of the game and discovered a bunch of strategies that we think are going to help you out when things get tricky in Angry Birds Journey.

Save your angry meter

If you unlock your angry meter towards the end of a challenge, it’s a better idea to save it and use it cause havoc at the start of the next part of the level. Use your powered up birds when they can do the most good, and the most damage.

Check what you need

Always keep an eye on what you need to do. The bar in the top left of the screen will tell you how many pigs, hatchlings and other critters you need to collect to move on to the next part of the challenge.

Learn what the blocks do

Different blocks behave differently. Some are fixed with bolts, some can’t be destroyed, some float off of their own accord if they’re detached from the main structure. Learn how they act and use that knowledge to your advantage.

Protect your streak

When you finish a level the first time, you’ll start a streak. Keep playing and that streak gives you a boost in sunshine, as well as giving you up to three powered-up birds to start the next level. Try and make sure you protect your streak – it makes things much easier in the long run.

Use your special powers wisely

You won’t pick up special powers very often, so it’s best to save them for when you really need them. When it looks like you might not finish a level, drop in a power to give yourself the edge, for example. They’re precious, so only use them when you absolutely have to.
