Battlefield 2042’s Open Beta Had 7.7 Million Players

Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 is out in about two weeks now, and ahead of its launch, last month it had its open beta. The beta itself had its fair share of issues, of course, with its technical hiccups in particular drawing criticism for players, while EA has stated multiple times that the beta was based an older build of the game. That said, where pure numbers are concerned, it seems like the shooter’s beta was a pretty successful one.

Speaking during EA’s recent quarterly earnings call, CEO Andrew Wilson revealed that Battlefield 2042’s open beta was played by 7.7 million players. Meanwhile, during its early access period (which was available to EA Play subscribers or those who pre-ordered the game), the beta had 3.1 million players, which, Wilson claims, is EA’s largest early access period for a beta yet.

Recently, DICE also confirmed that various features that were missing from the beta will be included in the final game. Read more on that through here.

Battlefield 2042 launches on November 19 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. EA Play and Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also jump into a free 10-hour trial of the game starting November 12.
