The ESL One Berlin Major 2023 is just around the corner as the second Major of the ongoing 2023 DPC season. With 2,700 DPC points up for grabs, every competing team in the Berlin Major will be fiercely battling to secure their slot in The International (TI12) later this year. Not to mention the lion’s share of the $500K prize pool being awarded to the team that take the crown!

Mark your calendars as the Dota 2 Berlin Major will kick off on April 26 and conclude on May 7. This grand event will be hosted at the Velodrom Arena in Berlin. Wondering what to expect? Berlin Major 2023: Format

The Dota 2 Berlin Major 2023 is split into three key stages, beginning on April 26 and ending on May 7. Here’s the full breakdown:

  • Group Stage – April 26 – 30

Eighteen teams will come together and battle it out in the Group Stage for a chance to make it to the playoffs. They are divided into two groups of nine teams, each in a single round-robin format. All matches are played best of two.

The top four teams from each group advance to the upper bracket, while the 5th and 6th placed teams proceed to the lower bracket of the playoffs. The remaining teams are eliminated.

  • Playoffs – May 2 – 4

The playoffs will feature a double elimination bracket as the remaining teams battle to make it to the Finals. Aside from the Grand Final, which is best-of-five, all matches are played as best-of-three.

  • Finals – May 5 – 7

The Finals will be hosted at the Velodrom Arena in Berlin. Tickets have already sold out, so fans can expect a massive turnout and an electric atmosphere!

The prize pool for the Berlin Major 2023 is an impressive $500,000 on offer, with the lion’s share of $200,000 being awarded to whoever takes home the crown.

There are also 2,700 DPC points up for grabs, vital for teams wanting to secure their place in The International (TI12), one of the biggest tournaments in the Dota 2 esports scene.

Eighteen teams will compete in the 2023 Berlin Major – four teams each from Western Europe and China, three from Southeast Asia (SEA) and Eastern Europe, and two from North America and South America.
