Best Lifeweaver Counters in Overwatch 2

The arrival of Overwatch 2’s fourth Season also heralds that of a new hero – Lifeweaver, the latest Support to be added to the game. Though regular Overwatch players have not yet gained access to this newest hero, some are already speculating about the best way to use and abuse his abilities, naturally leading to the formation of some devious counters. Here’s how to shut down Lifeweaver in your game of Overwatch 2.

Lifeweaver was announced by Blizzard last week, and his abilities have already been revealed. Niran Pruksamanee, AKA Lifeweaver, is a Thai scientist who developed a new technology called Biolight, which is plant-based and allows him to heal his allies. He also features a number of movement abilities and a way to move allies around – which does have some potential for griefing.

As Dot Esports observes, Lifeweaver’s large hitbox and limited ranged capabilities make him a target susceptible to sniper characters like Hanzo and Widowmaker, who can freely engage him at range without fearing retribution.

Players can also counter Lifeweaver by disrupting his positioning, using heroes like Roadhog and Doomfist to negate the utility granted by his Life Grasp and Petal Platform abilities.

Lastly, breaking up Lifeweaver’s healing capabilities by using the shields produced by Sigma and Reinhardt can force him to move forward and into potentially dangerous territory.

Season 4 of Overwatch 2 looks to be a big one, and Lifeweaver is set to play a large part in it.
