Playing on a PC comes with a lot of benefits. Performance is often much higher, there is a much vaster library of games, often at discounted prices, and most importantly, you can play with a mouse and keyboard. For many games, especially first-person shooters like CS2, the Mouse and keyboard are by far the superior method over the controller. You can play CS2 with a controller. However, at the time of writing, there are a few little problems with it. A lot of the controller inputs work just fine, but it has been reported that some of the crucial buttons are lacking. This means that, although support will be there eventually, currently, it is a little problematic.

If you’re hoping to play CS2 with a controller, you may have to wait until it is patched or a fan releases a working API. This won’t take long, and then there will be full controller support for CS2.

Should you play with a controller?

Now, this is all down to personal preference, but no, absolutely not. The lack of speed, accuracy, and finesse that comes with a controller will put you at a huge disadvantage to anyone playing with a mouse and keyboard.

The pinpoint accuracy and speed provided by a mouse cannot be matched in an FPS game by a controller. However, certain games are much better with the controller method.

I always play driving games and third-person RPGs with a controller, as I find the scheme much easier. I tried playing Elden Ring with a mouse and keyboard and almost lost my mind. However, a first-person shooter like CS2 should really be played with a mouse and keyboard rather than a controller.
