Capcom project Pragmata receives delay, will come out in 2023

In June of last year, Capcom unveiled its first trailer for a bizarre new project titled Pragmata. Clocking in at over two minutes, the trailer did not show off any gameplay, but it did leave a lasting impression. Its highly-detailed graphics and strange imagery weren’t too dissimilar to that of Death Stranding. Capcom has put out few updates since then, so it’s understandable to wonder when the company will share more information. Yesterday morning, Capcom finally provided fans with an update, albeit a bittersweet one. The company officially announced that it would delay Pragmata from its initial release window of 2022 to 2023.

Players can find the company’s statement on the matter on Pragmata’s official Twitter account. The statement does not go into much detail over the circumstances that led to the delay, only saying that “our team is hard at work on the project, but to ensure this will be an unforgettable adventure, we’ve decided to shift the release window to 2023.” To tide fans over, the Pragmata team uploaded a brand new piece of artwork that depicts the little girl from the initial trailer standing in front of a mysterious, half-materialized tube.

A small bonus for the fans

Additionally, the team uploaded a brief video that starts with a close-up of the aforementioned girl’s eyes. The camera zooms out to show her holding up a sign that has the year 2022 crossed out and the year 2023 written next to it. The word “sorry” and a frowning face are written at the bottom of the sign.

The news of the delay will no doubt disappoint fans who looked forward to playing Pragmata next year, but at least the developers have a sense of humor about the situation. Hopefully, the developers can advantage of this delay to fully realize whatever strange ideas the game will have.
