Quarter four 2021 was a lucrative time for Netmarble, as the mobile giant’s revenue hit $656.6 million, while its EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortisation) was $109.4 million. Furthermore, overseas sales account for 78% ($513.1 million) of this total, with the United States, Europe, Japan, and Korea among its key markets.
Overall, Netmarble’s financial performance for 2021 is quite impressive, with the company achieving $2.12 billion in revenue, while its EBITDA sat at $259.1 million. Again, overseas sales made up the majority of earnings with 73% ($1.6 billion) of the total. Of course, mobile games are to thank for this impressive performance, with casual games being the top-earning genre at 40%, while MMORPGs and RPGs follow, accounting for 26% and 21% of revenue, respectively.
As for specific games, Marvel Contest of Champions made up 12% of all earnings in Q4. Yes, this game is from Kabam, but the Netmarble US Kabam merger will be complete on March 1. Other games of note in the financial results include Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds, The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, Blade & Soul Revolution, and Marvel Future Revolution.
