The CRL season will be divided into two splits, Fall and Spring, with both splits featuring 16 teams from each North American Conference: Eastern and Western. Mexican universities will compete as part of the Western Conference.

The top eight teams advance to the Conference Playoffs, from which the top three teams compete in an online CRL Championship in both the Fall and Spring splits.

The top two teams from each CRL Championship, as well as two teams with the best ‘League Play’ record for both East and West Conferences, four teams from Europe, and two teams from a North American and European last chance qualifier will all receive invites to the CRL World Championship.

Psyonix announced it is working with European University Rocketeers Championship (EURC), an independent Rocket League collegiate tournament organiser, to run the European portion of the league.

Format or details for the European portion of the league have not been announced. EURC said on Twitter that the full EU announcement will come ‘in a few weeks time’.
