‘Company of Heroes Collection’ Announced, Plus Today’s New Releases and Sales – TouchArcade

Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for September 6th, 2023. It’s another Wednesday, and as usual it’s not the busiest of days. We’ve got a couple of news items to look at, including a new game announcement and some… interesting additions to Nintendo Switch Online’s retro catalog. After that, there are a couple of new releases to check out. Then, sales! Lists of the new! Lists of the expiring! I’m trying to make a normal feature sound exciting, just work with me here. Let’s get to what we’ve got!

News

New Retro Games Have Arrived on Nintendo Switch Online

Well, this is an odd bunch. Out of the blue, Nintendo dropped four new games across a few of the Nintendo Switch Online apps. Three of them are Japanese games that previously released on Japan’s Switch Online apps and they haven’t been translated at all for this release. None of them are RPGs or anything, so you can probably fumble your way around them, but it still feels low-effort. On the NES app you get Downtown Nekketsu March Super-Awesome Field Day! and Joy Mech Fight, while on the Super NES app you get Kirby’s Star Stacker. The one English game is a Game Boy Color release that was co-published by Nintendo and Titus back in the day: Quest for Camelot. It’s a middling action-adventure game based on a middling movie by Warner Bros., and the most remarkable thing about it is that Nintendo is putting a licensed game on the service that isn’t a big event thing like Goldeneye. Well, update your apps and have at ’em.

‘Company of Heroes Collection’ Announced, Coming Soon From Feral Interactive

Feral Interactive always does great work on the Switch, with near-miraculous ports like GRID Autosport and Alien: Isolation under its belt along with the excellent Lara Croft Collection. The company is about to add another great collection to its name, as it has announced it will be bringing Company of Heroes Collection to the Switch soon. It will include Company of Heroes and its two expansions into one king-sized real-time strategy experience. That adds up to forty-one missions to play, following both sides of battles like D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. I’ve heard from our pal Mikhail that this is a really great game, so… you know, look forward to it.

New Releases

Escape From Terror City ($9.99)

Oh, that has a funky look to it. Not bad. This is a behind-the-back gallery shooter, similar to things like Wild Guns or Cabal. It’s single-player only, and beyond the striking appearance I don’t have a whole lot to say about it. I haven’t tried it yet, you see. But I will, and should I find it worth mentioning, I’ll do that little thing.

No Son of Mine ($14.99)

Oh good, another scary survival horror game. I’m a giant scaredy cat, so this one isn’t going to be for me. But it does look quite good for what it is. You’ve got a scary thing stalking you at all times, and you need to be careful about the lighting and use what you have at your disposal to stay safe. Solve the mystery before the mystery solves you, or something like that. Look, the odds are good your character did something bad. That’s how these things work. Find out what it is before you get killed.

Sales

(North American eShop, US Prices)

If you’ve been waiting for some well-loved board game adaptations to go on sale, today might be your day. Also: Cat Quest II. You should already have that, though. Over in the outbox, Square Enix’s remaining Western output is finishing up its latest sale. Grab PowerWash Simulator and any of the Life is Strange games, if you want. And if you’ve been eyeing Starfield with jealous eyes the last week, No Man’s Sky might be the thing you need to get by. Just thirty bucks if you act now.

So far the Thursday schedule is looking a little thing by the usual standards, and that always makes me suspicious. I am suspicious! We’ll see if it was unwarranted tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday, and as always, thanks for reading!
