Cyberpunk 2077 How to Start Phantom Liberty

Learn how to Start Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 newest expansion.

The new Phantom Liberty expansion has just launched for Cyberpunk 2077. It features a full 15 to 20-hour-long storyline which can bloat up to 30 if you choose to go after all the side objectives. We’ve been enjoying our time in Dogtown and the new 2.0 Update so far, but a common question seems to pop up.

How do you enter Dogtown and start the Phantom Liberty expansion?

We’ll clarify everything you need to know and do in Cyberpunk 2077 to start the Phantom Liberty expansion right here and right now.

There are two ways you can go about starting the Phantom Liberty expansion. You can either start a fresh save or start a new save that’ll place you right at the start of the expansion. Alternatively, you can also load up an old save but keep and mind that thanks to the changes made with 2.0 many of your skills and perks have been reset.

Aside from that, it is worth getting back into Night City with a fresh perspective. If you haven’t played over the past few years, a lot has changed in NC. Some of the quests have been adjusted, dialog has been reshuffled and the entire game plays significantly smoother than it used to be. It’s also a great way to get reacquainted with the new old systems of Cyberpunk 2077.

Starting Phantom Liberty on a Fresh Save

To start the Expansion you’ll need to reach Act 2 of the Cyberpunk 2077 main game. To reach Act 2 you simply need to follow the Main Quest involving Dexter DeShawn and Jackie Wells until Keanu Reeves lives rent-free in your head.

From here on out, you’ll need to complete Evelyn Parker and the Voodoo Boys’ quest chains to unlock the quest that starts Phantom Liberty’s “Dog Eat Dog”.

To start Evelyn Parker’s questline, you’ll need to call Judy Alverez after your first proper conversation with Goro Takemura. This will lead you to various establishments but we’re just gonna name all the quests to keep in brief. You’ll need to complete “Automatic Love”, “The Space in Between”, “Disasterpiece” and “Double Life” to get on the trail of the Voodoo Boys.

Now you need to call up Mr. Hands and set up a meeting with the Voodoo Boys which requires some in-game days to pass until you continue this questline.

Once you’ve made contact with them, you’ll only have to complete the following set of quests: “M’ap Tann Pelen”, “I Walk the Line”, “Never Fade Away” and “Transmission”. Now that you’ve completed these quests a character called Songbird will call you and offer you a job, this job will then start the “Dog Eat Dog” Quest.

Getting A Start in Dogtown

But the game won’t let you lose in Dogtown right after you accept the quest. First, you’ll need to complete a series of linear quests. The quests go as follows “Dog Eat Dog”, “Hole in the Sky”, “Spider and the Fly”, and “Lucretia My Reflection”. These quests are fairly linear so don’t worry about missing out on anything while going through them.

Once you start the quest “The Damned”, you’ll be able to explore Dogtown at your own leisure. You should still follow some of the quests just in case they might unlock anything.
