Demon Slayer (Shroud)

Demon Slayer (Shroud)

I like to consider myself Lords Mobile’s toughest critic, but even I have to admit that the developers outdid themselves with Demon Slayer. He’s genuinely one of the best heroes in the game, and he’s totally free, too.

That makes him the perfect choice for all you cheapskates, along with the weirdos who prefer spending money on real-world nonsense like food instead of video game characters. Now keep reading and find out why I love this hero so much and how you can add him to your lineups.

“Miltina, I shall see you again in death…” –Shroud

Who Is Demon Slayer?

Knowing Demon SlayerKnowing Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer’s real name is Shroud, and I can’t decide if that’s better or worse than “Demon Slayer.” Just like pretty much every other hero in the game, his backstory says that he was a great warrior from an early age. Then, he fell in love with an elf called Miltina. Sadly for Shroud, his pointy-eared partner was burned alive by his enemies. Sucks to be her. After that, Shroud went full emo, embracing the darkness and vowing to avenge his lost love.

Demon Slayer Score

Shroud may not have the best backstory, but at least he had a girlfriend. Which can’t be said for around 98% of the people reading this. His design is really nice, too, with his Assassin’s Creed-style hood and deadly wrist blades.

He’s also got amazing abilities to match that striking design. He’s one of the leading damage dealers in the F2P roster, as well as being a fantastic leader of infantry troops, with massive boosts to my two favorite stats: ATK and HP.

Whether you’re rallying, monster hunting, or heading to the Colosseum, you’re going to want to bring Demon Slayer along for the ride. There really are no major downsides to this hero, and that’s why he gets the kind of score you can only dream of: 9/10.

Specifications

Now let’s take a peek under Demon Slayer’s hood and see what this hero is all about. In this section, I’ll analyze his Battle Skills and Hero Skills. I’ll explain to you exactly he’s a 9/10 hero and why you’re playing this game wrong if you’re not using him most of the time.

Here are his Battle Skills:

Demon Slayer Battle SkillsDemon Slayer Battle Skills
  • Shadow Strike: This skill deals up to 200% squad ATK in the form of DMG to enemy troops.
  • Infantry HP Boost: Up to 50% when deployed.
  • Trap ATK Boost: Up to 50%.
  • Infantry ATK Boost: Up to 30%

I know my readers aren’t exactly the brightest sparks. But I hope you can see that Shroud is an excellent infantry leader. He provides key boosts in the areas that count – HP and ATK – for all your infantry. The trap ATK is less interesting, but still useful in certain situations, making Demon Slayer a very solid commander.

Next, let’s see his Hero Skills:

Demon Slayer Hero SkillsDemon Slayer Hero Skills
  • Wilting Spiral: This is Shroud’s ultimate attack. This attack hits every enemy twice in a large area and reduces their M-CRIT for a solid six seconds.
  • Silent Ambush: Shroud sneaks up behind his target to surprise, dealing big damage to a single enemy. This is pretty much his signature skill, allowing him to assassinate backline heroes.
  • Mystic Seal: This skill silences and deals damage in a small area around the target. Mostly used to shut off enemy healers or supports.
  • Dark Imprint: A passive ability, Dark Imprint gives Demon Slayer better MDEF to guard against magical attacks.

You shouldn’t need me to tell you that those are some awesome hero skills. His most notable use is for a backline assassin. With skills aimed at quickly eliminating squishy enemies and the ultimate supplementing his damage output. Plus, the fact that Shroud can silence INT heroes and magic-using monsters while getting a ton of MDEF to survive their initial attacks is so helpful.

Here’s some additional info about Shroud:

  • Type: Infantry
  • Class: Agility
  • Species: Humanoid
  • Sex: Male
  • Movement: Running

How to Unlock the Demon Slayer

How to unlock Demon SlayerHow to unlock Demon Slayer

You can give your mom her credit card back, because Demon Slayer is a totally free hero. I guess IGG was feeling really generous the day this guy was released.

You can get your first 10 Demon Slayer Medals (needed to unlock the hero) by finishing Hero Stages 5-18 on Normal mode. You’ll then need to complete more stages on Elite mode (3-15 and 5-18) to get the extra medals you need to boost Shroud up the ranks.

It takes 330 medals to max him out. That’ll take quite a lot of time, but I know you guys have a ton of free time, so it shouldn’t be a problem. And when you do finally get Shroud to Legendary, you’ll have one of the strongest F2P heroes in all of Lords Mobile. Maybe that’ll make you happy. Maybe not. I don’t care.

Demon Slayer and the Colosseum

Colosseum line upColosseum line up

I’ll say this is as clearly and simply as possible so it sinks in: Demon Slayer is a god in the Colosseum. He’s often considered as one of the best Colosseum assassins, with the perfect set of skills for wiping out enemy teams.

But I do encounter him all the time, and it’s easy to see why. He has the perfect skills to deal damage and counter any INT heroes your opponent may bring, silencing them to stop their potentially devastating skills.

Plus, thanks to his “Silent Ambush” ability, Demon Slayer goes around enemy defenses and targets the weaker heroes on the backlines. He can usually wipe out a team’s healer this way, which is usually enough. If that’s not all, his MDEF passive means he can survive initial magic damage bursts and strike back.

Rallying with Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer is also an excellent commander. In fact, if you’re purely a F2P player, he’s the best infantry leader you’re ever going to get. He provides boosts where they matter most, and his trap improvements can be useful when you’re on the defensive.

Monster Hunting with Demon Slayer

Not only is Demon Slayer a phenomenal Colosseum hero and a stellar commander, he’s also a stellar hero to bring along on Monster hunts. However, he’s only really effective when you’re going up against a creature that uses magic damage and skills.

Since he can inflict the Silence effect, he can block enemy abilities temporarily. He also has a passive MDEF boost to take less damage, and is capable of reducing the enemy’s M-CRIT. All in all, he’s a must-use for magical Monsters, and I love partnering him with other agility heroes like Black Crow.

Tips and Trivia

  • F2P Alternatives: If you want a F2P hero with similar battle skills to Shroud, choose Oath Keeper, as he also improves infantry HP and ATK. Black Crow and Death Archer are decent alternatives in Hero mode.
  • P2P Alternatives: Among the paid heroes, Grim Wolf and Magmaroid can offer decent infantry boosts. Cursed Hunter has some similar Hero Skills, like the ability to get behind enemies and deal a lot of damage in a short amount of time.
