Dota 2’s 2022 TI11 Prize Pool Hits $7 Million in 24 Hours, Lags Behind TI9 & TI10

Following a long wait, the Dota 2 community finally got the chance to get their hands on the TI11 Battle Pass. Initially, the player base was left confused due to Valve’s new two-part approach experimented with in this new Battle Pass. However, the Pass sales continue to increase steadily as time progresses.

Looking at the TI11 Battle Pass sales in the first 24 hours, we can see that the prize pool of The International 2022 has already hit over $7,000,000 in a day. But how does it compare to the prize pools of previous TIs?

Taking a quick look at the prize pools of TI9 & TI10 on the first day of their Battle Pass releases, we can see that the TI11 Prize Pool is lagging behind the two in terms of first-day BP sales. For reference, the TI10 prize pool was approximately $8,000,000 after the first 24 hours since the release of the TI10 Battle Pass.

However, the bigger cause of concern might be the shorter time frame that this year’s Battle Pass will have to fund the prize pool of TI11. While the TI9 and TI10 Battle Pass had over three months to build up the prize pools for their respective TIs, this year’s case will be slightly different.

Part 1 of the TI11 Battle Pass will conclude on November 1st, and The International 11 prize pool will be determined since no further purchases contribute to it.

This means that none of the purchases made during Part 2 of the Battle Pass, which drops on November 2nd and runs until January, will be adding anything to the event’s prize pool.

To put it simply, the TI11 Battle Pass will only have two months to raise funds for the prize pool of The International 2022, while the TI9 & TI10 Battle Passes had over three months each.

This likely means that the TI11 prize pool won’t be able to overtake the humongous total prize pool of over $40,000,000 that TI10 had set, as is evident from the early stats.

Fans of the MOBA title worldwide eagerly look forward to Valve coming up with new additions to this year’s Battle Pass and turning the tides.
