ENCE were one of the teams touted to struggle prior to the tournament and they unfortunately seem to be living up to those pessimistic expectations. The international roster suffered a tough loss in their opening game to Cloud9, where they could not stop the in-form Denis “electroNic” Sharipov, who was a dominant force on the server.

The squad’s new in-game leader Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander will need to find a way to fire up his teammates in their next game against NAVI or else it will be ENCE’s first group stage exit, since the BLAST Paris Major back in May.

NAVI’s third tournament run without Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, who went on a break earlier this year, did not begin as they had hoped for. A well-oiled Vitality handed them the loss without breaking much of a sweat. However, it has to be said that the BLAST Fall Final Champions are one of the favourites in this event and were predicted to win their opening game.

Even though NAVI signed Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov not too long ago, they are the longest-standing five-man lineup in attendance at the BLAST World Final.

So in theory, they should be more stable and have better chemistry within the roster than their competitors.
