ESL Open Cup #221: ByuN, Clem, Dark win

Week #221 of the Open Cups was played under the new 5.0.13 patch, but it was still the same old, familiar faces who prevailed on the three servers.

ByuN came out on top in the Korean server cup, beating Rex, Cyan, Dark, and Cure along the way. There was one major upset that shook up the bracket, as Cyan took out open cup powerhouse herO.

With Reynor declining to compete on the week, the EU cup championship was inevitably contested by eternal rivals Clem and MaxPax. This time, Clem emerged victorious by a 3-1 score, improving to 17-15 all time against MaxPax in ESL Open Cup finals.

Finally, the NA server cup went to Dark, who avenged his Korean server cup loss to ByuN by defeating him 3-2 in the finals. Also, BattleB earned a shoutout by making it to the quarterfinals with victory against Gerald, earning himself an unexpected RO8 double on EU and NA.

In non-ESL competition, herO won KSL #47 with a 3-1 victory over Dark in the finals.
