Fall Guys Hits 20 Million Players After Going Free-to-Play

Fall Guys has managed a pretty healthy player count, reaching 20 million players just days after transitioning to free-to-play.

The Fall Guys official Twitter account made a post celebrating the milestone, offering a “massive thank you to all who have stumbled.” The popular obstacle course battle royale recently made the switch over to the free-to-play model. Not only that, but the game is also now available on Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.

The transition hasn’t been completely smooth, however. Many players faced matchmaking issues over the weekend as the game’s servers contended with the popularity. Fall Guys is no stranger to this, given that the game suffered from similar issues when it first launched on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2020.

With plenty of things changing in the world of Fall Guys, developers Mediatonic saw fit to add in some more features to the game, including a new Season Pass which operates as the game’s version of a premium Battle Pass. The free progression path is still available, so free-to-play only players can continue to enjoy the game as they did before.

Players have also had the chance to check out some of the new rounds that have been added into the game, including a rotating version of Hex-a-Gone (Hex-a-Ring), and a bouncy castle-style round called Bounce Party.

Of course, these are just a small sample of the content that’s been added to the game. Be sure to check out our rundown of every new round that has made its way into Fall Guys.
