Far Cry 5 and a game you might have missed are on Game Pass now

In our latest Game Pass article, announcing the game’s leaving the service, we wrote “today’s the last day of the month, so it’d be a push to expect anything more” from Game Pass. It’s not the first time that we’ve been wrong. Microsoft, as is their wont, stealth-released a game onto the service in the last moments of June. House Flipper (Console, Cloud and PC) is now available to anyone with a Game Pass subscription.

Perhaps more importantly, the 1st of July is the day that we get Far Cry 5 (Cloud, Console and PC). It may not be the most recent game in the franchise, but you may have had Far Cry Fatigue (a medically recognised disease) when it first came out, so now is the time to give it a chance.

For all the farago about Far Cry 5 being a dip in quality, we actually quite liked it over here at TheXboxHub. “If you’re a fan of the previous games then this is a must buy for your collection; it is bright, noisy and frantic and I wouldn’t have it another way”, said our resident reviewer Gareth Brierley. It certainly scratches the open-world itch, bringing an even more expansive map, and a middle-American setting that swapped leopards for grizzly bears and cougars. Plus, you can get to know the antagonist Joseph Seed before you encounter him in the DLC for Far Cry 6.

House Flipper blindsided us, as it wasn’t on any previous Game Pass announcement. But it’s well worth your time and shouldn’t be skipped. We said “ House Flipper on Xbox One is a wonderful surprise. It does not have the deepest gameplay, but it sucked me right in. It may not be a game I remember for years to come, but it will surely stay installed on my Xbox One so that I have something quiet and calming to play the next time I feel the need to be alone with my existential thoughts”. Sounds like it might be a dangerous addiction for anyone who has shouted at the screen during home renovation shows.

It’s the first of the month, and that’s often the date when Microsoft drop a Game Pass announcement, detailing the games that are coming out in the rest of the month. You can be sure that we will inform you as soon as we know more.

For now, we have an idea of what might be coming. July should bring Last Call BBS on July 5th, Matchpoint Tennis Championships on July 7th, As Dusk Falls on July 19th and Immortality on July 26th. Expect more to be added to the list.
