RTTF Release Date

The Road to the Final promo is expected to start on Friday, 17 February, at the usual time of 1pm ET / 6pm GMT.

This means it will drop on the same week that European competitions resume with the knockout rounds, with the first matches being played on Tuesday, 14 February.

As with last year, we expect the promo to only run for one week, as the first round of games will already have been conducted by the time the event drops.

Road to the Final

Road to the Final is an annual event in Ultimate Team, so we know what to expect from it, especially as it will be similar to the Road to the Knockouts promo from earlier in FIFA 23.

Selected players from the teams who have made it to the knockout stages of the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League will be handed live cards, which will be upgraded depending on how far their team goes in the competition.

Of course, the usual boosted players will be released into Packs and come via SBCs and Objectives, with a total of 30 cards coming during FUT 22!

We expect the upgrade system to follow the same pattern as last year, with players gaining upgrades when their team:

  1. Won their first knockout game after the campaign launch
  2. Qualified for the Quarter Finals
  3. Qualified for the Semi Finals
  4. Qualified for the Final
  5. Won the tournament

It should be noted that games that take place before the campaign launch will not be counted towards an upgrade, so that will disqualify all the first legs of knockout matches.

Predictions

Any player from a side that has made it to the knockout stages of the Champions League, Europa League or Europa Conference League could be included in this promo, so that narrows the selection pool somewhat.

Here are some names we would love to see included in the RTTF squad:

  • Marc-Andre ter Stegen (OVR 89)
  • Reece James (OVR 88)
  • Marquinhos (OVR 91)
  • Manuel Akanji (OVR 88)
  • David Hancko (OVR 87)

RTTF Leaks

So far there haven’t been any Road to the Final card leaks, however, the card designs have been revealed.

They look very similar to the ones from last year, with blue and star for the Champions League, a green wave for the Europa League, and jagged orange lines for the Europa Conference League.
