FIFA 23 World Cup Mode Confirmed

EA Sports confirmed Wednesday the presence of a World Cup mode in their upcoming release of FIFA 23.

In accordance with their partnership with FIFA, the international governing body of the sport of soccer, EA has revealed an upcoming World Cup gameplay mode. According to EA, the new feature will allow gamers to “Experience the pinnacle of international football with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 as post-launch content updates at no additional cost.”

EA announced the new World Cup Mode via Twitter, and released a trailer previewing the mode to YouTube the same day.

The confirmation has come mere months before World Cup Qatar 2022, which will take place from Nov. 21 to Dec. 18. FIFA 23, now available for pre-order, will come out on September 30, giving gamers a few more months to adapt to the new game before the real life World Cup begins. The debut of the World Cup game mode will likely come closer to the real World Cup’s start date.

FIFA 23’s World Cup mode will also continue EA Sports FIFA’s tradition of featuring Women’s International play, which began with FIFA 16.
