FURIA end losing streak to eliminate Outsiders

FURIA recovered from a poor run of games to eliminate Outsiders, taking a close Inferno 16-13 before brushing aside the Russians 16-8 on Vertigo. The Brazilians move forward to face the loser of FaZe vs. Spirit on Sunday.

Outsiders found their new signings, particularly Petr “fame” Bolyshev, abused on their CT sides, which was what ultimately allowed FURIA to take the game.

As for the Brazlians Yuri “yuurih” Santos was on excellent form, and their trademark CT aggression and fast-paced offense were in full flow; it also helped that Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato posted a solid series after a shaky run of form.

yuurih was once again the shining light for his team

A fascinating battle ensued on the opener of Inferno, Outsiders kicking off their map pick with a pistol win and conversion before then finding success with their very slow T-side approach, getting to a 5-2 lead.

Once FURIA began to find more success with their early aggression the tides turned and the Brazilians managed to get to eight rounds to win the half, but their Russian counterparts took the final round to go into the second period at a mere 7-8 deficit.

The second-half pistol victory put Outsiders in the driver’s seat and they climbed to a 12-8 score off the back of it but once FURIA got themselves into the game they never looked back, often abusing new signing fame on the B site. Outsiders could only manage one more round as they surrendered their map pick to the Brazilians 13-16.

The second map of Vertigo began much like the first, a tightly-fought battle taking place early in the half before FURIA began to tighten the screw, once again targeting fame by hitting the B bombsite repeatedly. Eventually fame did grow into the map somewhat to stem the bleeding, but not early enough to prevent the Brazilians taking the half 8-7.

Once sides were switched Outsiders crumbled, posting a single round on their offence as FURIA comfortably took the map 16-8 and thus the series.
