For the King II

Inspired by tabletop adventures, IronOak Games and Curve Games’ For the King II is just the title for roguelike fans.

A roll of the dice will determine your fate in this long and treacherous journey, with more than 30 hours of gameplay to all. Failure is not the end of the world, however, this digestible roguelike will help players get stronger and wiser their next go-around. If all else fails, bring a friend or three along – For the King II supports up to four players.

For The King 2 is the perfect sequel. It takes the very best components of its predecessor and uses those time-tested elements to raise the series to new heights. To put it simply, For The King 2 is one of the best strategy-based co-op experiences on the market today. For the King II Review, Blaine Smith

SpellForce: Conquest of Eo

Owned by Gravity and THQ Nordic will have players become the most powerful mage of all in the release of Spellforce: Conquest of Eo.

Tactical combat and hundreds of quests await in a game that has players fighting in fast-paced, tactical turn-based combat. More than 60 spells and over 100 different troops are at your command, just the thing to befriend cities, harvest resources, and expand your almighty domain.

I ultimately think SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is going to be a turbulent release. As a fan of turn-based combat, I loved every minute. Exploring the world, finding new and powerful allies to add to my armies, discovering new Necromancer recipes to summon deadly hordes of the undead, fighting off the constant attacks from The Circle – it’s a game I will return to time and time again. However, long-time fans of the franchise may struggle with the stark differences between turn-based and real-time strategy in a franchise they’ve grown to love for the latter.SpellForce: Conquest of Eo Review, Blaine Smith

SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Purchasing options can be found on the official SpellForce: Conquest of Eo website.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns

A darker take of the Marvel Universe awaits with the release of Firaxis Games and 2K Games’ Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Sure, technically, it launched last year, but it’s a criminally under played game and one that’s a must-play for strategy and Marvel fans alike.

Players will take control of the customizable Hunter as they team up with The Avengers, X-Men, Runaways, and other Marvel legends. This title is unique, in that is combines the rich story and progression of an RPG with the tactical strategy and combat mechanics of card-based tactical titles. The end result? A title that is truly spectacular.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is, without question, my Game of the Year and has quickly become one of my favorite games of all time.Marvel’s Midnight Suns Review, Blaine Smith

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Purchasing options can be found on the official Marvel’s Midnight Suns website.
