Gekko is the latest agent and initiator to join VALORANT

Riot Games introduces its 22nd agent to VALORANT.

While the VCT LOCK//IN just finished a few days ago, Riot Games is just getting started with the release of its latest agent, Gekko. Hailing from Los Angeles, he is the latest Initiator legend to join the ever-growing roster in VALORANT. He is also the 22nd agent in the group, which shows the game’s rapid growth leading up to its third-year anniversary.

As an initiator, Gekko has the ability to get onto the plant sites to give his team an advantage. He also brings a different element to VALORANT with his tight-knit crew of calamitous creatures, all of whom are named and part of his kit. Being the sixth Initiator to be released, Gekko brings a whole new style of play to the game with the help of his companions.

Not only does his list of abilities include blind and detection skills, but Gekko can also plant and defuse the bomb by sending one of his little friends to assist him. Gekko – Abilities

E – Dizzy

EQIUP Dizzy and FIRE to launch it forward through the air. Dizzy will charge up and release a plasma beam that will hit any enemy in its line of sight, blinding them in the process. When it expires, it turns into a dormant globule. INTERACT to reclaim the globule to gain another Dizzy charge once the short cooldown is over.

Q – Wingman

EQUIP Wingman and FIRE to send it forward to seek enemies. It unleashes a concussive blast towards the first enemy it sees. You can also ALT FIRE when targeting the Spike site or the planted Spike to have Wingman defuse or plant the bomb. In order to plant, Gekko must have the Spike in his inventory. When Wingman expires, it returns to a globule state. INTERACT to reclaim to globule for another Wingman charge after a short cooldown.

C – Mosh Pit

EQUIP Mosh and FIRE to throw Mosh like a grenade. ALT FIRE to Mosh underhand for a different projectile launch pattern. Upon landing, Mosh duplicates itself across a large area and after a short delay, it explodes.

X – Thrash

EQUIP Thrash and FIRE to link with its mind to steer it through enemy territory. Thrash can be ACTIVATED to lunge forward and explode, detaining any enemy it caught in a small radius. Once Thrash expires, it will return to a globule state, which can you can INTERACT with to reclaim it for another Thrash charge after a short cooldown. Do note that Thrash can only be reclaimed once.

Riot also ensured to play greater homage to Gekko and his ties to Los Angeles. It has also just been announced that the VCT Champions 2023 will be taking place in the City of Angels later this year.

It will be split into two iconic locations around Los Angeles, California with the Shrine Auditorium being the place for the preliminary stages before moving to the KIA Forum for the main stage event. This year’s VCT Champions will take place from August 6 – 26 

Gekko will be released to all VALORANT servers tomorrow, March 7 throughout several different timezones across the day. he will be part of Episode 6: Act III.
