GTA 5 was released back in 2013 and was a great game on its own. Then the devs leaned into the online aspect of the game and gained even more of a following that has lasted the entire decade since its release. Even though the trailer was not supposed to come out until December 5 at 9 am EST, leakers got to it first and then Rockstar released it themselves. Now we know at least part of the GTA 6 Release Date.

GTA 6 Release Date

The GTA 6 Release Date will be sometime in 2025.

This was expected but many were hoping for the end of the year in 2024. With just the first trailer getting released, it was always unlikely that the exact date was going to be revealed though. With studios around the world still pushing back games it should not be a surprise that Rockstar does not want to promise a date and then have to push it back.

Do not forget that not only is GTA 5 a major game for the story and everything else that is in the game. But then the additional content for online is also massive. With GTA 6 being so anticipated, the expectations will be even higher. Rockstar will need as much time as possible to make sure that this new installment delivers.

Guessing the Grand Theft Auto 6 Release Date

Keeping that in mind, it would seem that guessing the exact Grand Theft Auto 6 Release date is going to be a bit tough.

The 2025 release date feels far off and it probably is. GTA 5 came out in September but GTA 4 came out in April. So it is likely at least a year and a half away from release but more likely a full two years.

The probable release date will be sometime in the Summer of 2025 or the Holiday Season of 2025. The main reason is that so many people will be able to play and stream it during either break. The Holiday Season of 2025 feels too far away but it would make a ton of sense as that is a very popular time for major releases of games.

For now, that will be the guess but it will be interesting to see what more information comes out over the next year or two.
