Helldivers 2’s Cutting Edge Premium Warbond Locked, Loaded for 14th March Deployment

While today’s top story remains the Liberation of Tien Kwan, Super Earth high command (developer Arrowhead) has revealed the Cutting Edge Premium Warbond, giving all loyal Helldivers a glimpse of the arsenal on the way to the forces of Democracy. Expect distribution to begin on 14th March in exchange for a lifetime of service and an appropriate amount of Super Credits.

Cutting Edge contains an assortment of anti-alien weaponry, prototype suits of battle armour that harness the power of lightning, and, crucially, new capes. The G-23 Stun Grenade and LAS-7 Dagger pistol will allow a little more flexibility in terms of loadouts, but it’s the new primary weapons that have caught our discerning eye.

Inching towards Warhammer 40,000 with every addition, the LAS-16 Sickle is a laser rifle that fires short bursts and won’t require reloading. However, the heatsink can be replaced when in danger of overheating. Next, a modified Punisher shotgun, the SG-8P, fires volatile, explosive plasma rounds, which will likely end up being equally lethal to both friends and foes alike. Finally, the ARC-12 Blitzer can project an arc of close-range lightning or be charged to rattle off powerful bolts.
