Here’s Why All Squad Sizes Are Available in Warzone Season 1

After a year of frustrating playlist rotations, all squad sizes will finally be available in Warzone Season 1.

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 is almost here with new map, Urzikstan. With 11 POIs, a new Gulag, and horizontal ziplines, the Verdansk-inspired playground is set to revitalize the Battle Royale. Several gameplay changes, including the ability to manually equip your Gas Mask, are also coming in the new season. In the first 48 hours of Warzone Season 1, fans will get to explore Urzikstan in traditional Battle Royale, Resurgence, and Plunder.

Here’s why fans will not have to worry about rotating squad sizes for the first time in a long time.

Activision confirmed that all squad sizes are available throughout Warzone Season 1. Fans can choose between solos, duos, trios, and quads for the entirety of the upcoming season.

The decision to make all squad sizes available in Warzone Season 1 comes after the community heavily criticized the rotating playlists in Warzone 2. The developers would randomly remove duos and trios for week-long periods without explanation, forcing fans to play nonpreferred squad sizes.

The community pleaded with the developers to keep all four squad sizes in the game permanently, and it seems like they are finally listening.

Activision revealed in the Warzone Season 1 roadmap, “All squad sizes for Battle Royale on Urzikstan will be available all season long.”

Now, even if weekly playlists rotate maps and modes, squad sizes will remain untouched throughout Warzone Season 1.

Warzone Season 1 starts at 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023. The major update will be a sizeable download, containing a fresh Battle Pass, Perks, map, and more. Fans will be able to pre-load the new season hours before it launches to ensure they can hop right into the action come release time.
