Attention all Honkai Impact 3rd players, or Mihoyo fans in general, a new game is on the way. Honkai Star Rail’s release date might be unknown as of now, but the title serves as a sequel to Honkai Impact. As such, it’s safe to assume that it’s a JRPG, making it the third major title by Mihoyo, behind its predecessor and Genshin Impact.
Given that Mihoyo has just confirmed the game, it’s safe to say that the Honkai Star Rail release date is some time away. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate on what the game entails before the upcoming Honkai Star Rail beta. Mihoyo officially unveiled the game as part of the Starfire Sonorant concert, which took place as part of the 3rd-anniversary celebration for Honkai Impact 3rd.
Honkai Star Rail will likely feature an open-world, an expansive one at that if Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact are anything to go by. The latter of which continues to grow, with a new island becoming available as part of the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.2 update. More than that, we expect that the new title will feature a range of combat options, much like Mihoyo’s other titles.
What is Honkai Star Rail’s release date?
The short answer is that we don’t know yet. However, you may get a chance to try the game when the Honkai Star Rail beta goes live at a later date.

When is the Honkai Star Rail beta?
You can sign up for the Honkai Star Rail beta by heading over to the official website. Unfortunately for Android owners, the beta is only open to iPhone users, however, we hope to see an Android beta later down the line. The first closed beta is due to begin on October 27.
