How to quickly complete the ‘Rust Belt’ mission in Ready or Not

Rust Belt has straightforward mission objectives in Ready or Not, but completing it sucks you into a subterranean labyrinth. The objectives are the following:

• Bring Order to the Chaos (Report and arrest all suspects)
• Rescue All of the Civilians (Detain civilians)

The civilians are universally on the ground level where you start, inside any of the three buildings you find. There are typically ~2-3 civilians and they’ll surrender easily. But the suspects are spread thin across the map, many of which sporting shotguns in narrow passageways.

This means once you’ve detained everybody on the ground floor, you can go into the central house to enter the tunnel inside. It also means you’re weapons-free and can engage hostiles however you see fit. I recommend Stinger grenades or flashbangs to disarm or break the suspects’ morale and consider night vision goggles. Peeking inside doors gives just enough space to toss a grenade, too!

How to navigate underground in Rust Belt

I recommend sticking to a straight path and using a chem light every time you enter a new room. Check each room, and set up a structure where 2 operators breach a room while the others search or cover. Enemies like to sneak up on you, and can even slide between wall openings, to my surprised and impressed terror, but not like Greased Palms. Your final destination should be a large cave with a boat.

There are two Soft Objectives in the Rust Belt mission:

• Report Confiscated Passports
• Report Los Locos Barge

The Passports are on the kitchen table in the main house where you start in Rust Belt in Ready or Not. The Los Locos Barge is the boat at the end of the cave area.

How to get S-Rank in Rust Belt

The main challenge in this case will be keeping yourself and your allies alive, so try to do the following:

• Take Pepperball guns, and no beanbag shotguns at least for your AI teammates; they tend to overdo it and kill the suspects.
• Consider removing all sidearm ammunition to prevent your team from going lethal.
• Bring a balance of Flashbang and Stinger grenades.
• In the starting area, take the left path, which gives more cover as you subdue your first targets.
• Bring a Mirrorgun; enemies like to approach the doors, and these doors are often unlocked, so kick the door with enemies nearby to stun them!
• Complete all soft objectives, and have your team fall in with you to automatically spot any guns you don’t spot yourself for evidence.

The mission itself is straightforward, but succeeding takes some care steady nerves, and eyes constantly on the many doors you’ll pass. Instead of ascending the buildings in Twisted Nerve or the 23 Megabytes mission, this time, you must descend into the dangerous tunnels below.
