How to fish in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora

Fishing is available in a plethora of video games, even in this Ubisoft one. So, how can you fish in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora?

You don’t just get a normal fishing rod — you have to catch fish in other creative ways. Learn how to survive in the wild and catch fish the old-fashioned way as you read this guide.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: Fishing guide

Near the start of my playthrough, I stumbled upon a little fishing tutorial, but who knows whether every player will come across it. There are also certain ways I prefer to fish that the tutorial doesn’t specify. How you can fish in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is by watching for ripples in the water and shooting them with your bow.

Find some deep enough waters and try to notice splashes and ripples in the water. That signifies a fish swimming underneath the waves. Now just ready your arrow, whether it’s with your Longbow or Heavy Bow, and shoot. You can then use your Na’vi vision to see if the fish’s body is floating, meaning you killed it.

Although fishing sounds pretty simple, I often find it difficult to aim correctly at the fish. It’ll often swim in random directions, and how do I know if I’m aiming directly at it? Luckily, there’s an easy way to do this.

Instead of relying on watching for water splashes, just turn on your Na’vi vision by holding ‘X’. You should see the fish’s bodies highlighted underwater. If you let go of your Na’vi vision, they should stay highlighted for a short period of time. I usually find a fish with my vision, then shoot at it as soon as I turn it off, allowing me a clear image of where I’m aiming.

If you’re still having trouble seeing them, I recommend heading into your Hunter’s Guide and pinning the type of fish you’re after. Instead of highlighting pink, they’ll be a bright yellow, which is much easier to see.

Remember to not use any RDA weapons, just your bows, or else it won’t be a clean kill. This way, you can gather meat from it after you hunt it.
