How to Gift Skins in Fortnite?

Fortnite, the popular free-to-play game, offers a unique feature that allows players to gift skins and other cosmetic items to their friends. This feature not only enhances the gaming experience but also strengthens the bonds within the Fortnite community. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to gift skins in Fortnite.

Fortnite’s in-game microtransactions, including the purchase of skins, contribute significantly to its revenue. These skins can be bought for personal use or gifted to friends. Here’s how you can gift skins in Fortnite:

  • Navigate to the Item Shop from the Main Screen.
  • Select the skins you wish to gift.
  • Choose the ‘Gift To Friend’ option (ensure you have sufficient V-Bucks).
  • Select a friend from your list to whom you want to gift the skin.
  • Confirm your choice, and voila! The gifted skin will appear in your friend’s locker.

To prevent misuse of the gifting feature, Epic Games has implemented certain restrictions:

  • Both the sender and recipient must have 2 Factor Authentication activated on their accounts.
  • Before the skin may be gifted, the recipient must have been on the sender’s buddy list for more than 48 hours.
  • The daily gifting limit is five gifts.

These restrictions safeguard players from potential hacking attempts and maintain the integrity of the gifting feature.

What Items Can Be Gifted in Fortnite?

In addition to skins, Fortnite allows players to gift a variety of cosmetic items, including BackBlings, Harvesting Tools, Gliders, Contrails, Emotes, Wraps, Music, Loading Screens, and even the Battlepass.

Can You Gift Skins from Your Locker in Fortnite?

Unfortunately, Fortnite does not allow players to gift items from their lockers. This means that once an item enters your locker, it cannot be gifted to anyone else. While this may seem disappointing, it prevents the potential issue of skin trading, which Fortnite and Epic Games have consistently avoided.
