How to unlock Hunts in Final Fantasy 16

At a certain point in Final Fantasy 16, there will be ways for you to hunt down ferocious monsters. In Square Enix’s latest Final Fantasy title, once you unlock the Hunt Board, you can earn rewards like Gil and Renown for defeating beasts. You won’t have access to this Hunt Board right away, so we’ll explain how to unlock Hunts in Final Fantasy 16.

How to get the Hunt Board in Final Fantasy 16

If you’re running low on Gil, or need some Renown, you’ll want to use the Hunt Board. How you unlock Hunts in Final Fantasy 16 is by completing main story quests, and getting to the second time skip. At the beginning of the game, Clive is a teenager in the year 860, but by the second time skip, he’s 33 years old. Once you get to this point in the story, you can find the Hunt Board in The Hideaway.

During one of your missions, you’ll run into your first Hunt accidentally on your way to save Martha. This Ahriman monster is only Rank C, but tougher Hunts can be higher ranked than that. The next time you go to The Hideaway, talk to the Moogle named Nectar in front of the Hunt Board. You can now look at the variety of Hunts available to you. Sadly, you can’t pin their location directly. You’ll have to read the sheet yourself, and find the location listed.

You should also notice that you’ve already completed that Rank C hunt against the Ahriman. As a reward for completing Hunts, you’ll receive plenty of Gil and a bit of Renown. Collecting Renown is good, as you can earn rewards for getting certain amounts of Renown. Otherwise, the more Hunts you do, the more you’ll unlock higher-ranked Hunts. These can be highly rewarding and exhilarating to fight. So don’t ignore these optional Hunts!
