HoYoverse Dominates the Global Market and Doesn’t Seem to Be Slowing Down – Droid Gamers

If you’re familiar with the gacha genre, you’ll have heard of HoYoverse and MiHoYo. They certainly know how to make gacha games, which people stick around for too. In fact, they’re absolutely dominating the global market when it comes to the top 20 anime/gacha games.

It’s not surprising when you look at the highly successful entries of Genshin Impact, Honkai Impact 3rd, and the latest addition to the franchise, Honkai Star Rail. All three of these games have incredibly loyal fanbases, and have their fair share of “whales”.

Highly Polished Games

The more players there are, the more money the company will be, thus allowing HoYoverse to stand at the top. Genshin Impact shows no signs of slowing down any time soon, with each banner rerun, and each new character release, bringing in more and more money.

Yes, gacha games aren’t for everyone, but it’s hard to deny their popularity when you’re looking at the figures in the global market. People adore HoYoverse games and for a good reason. They clearly make some of the most polished and well-thought-out games in the gacha genre, with far too many titles reaching EOS after just a couple of years.

The Success of Honkai

Honkai Impact 3rd was a pretty popular game for mobile and PC users, however, with the release of Honkai Star Rail, the latter has risen above Honkai Impact 3rd quite quickly. While Star Rail was a highly anticipated game, many people were put off by the turn-based combat gameplay. That hasn’t hindered the success of the game at all though, with thousands upon thousands of people all over the world delving into the game each and every day.

We expect to see the Honkai Star Rail revenue to skyrocket as time goes on, with an abundance of new characters that are due to release over the course of the year – as is the same with other gacha games. Live-service titles, like Genshin Impact, have a continuous loop of fantastic revenue incoming thanks to the avid fanbases, and those willing to splurge their cash on the game.

The New Standard

So, HoYoverse is dominating the global market right now, but will that change? Tons of gacha games come out every year, but none of them are able to reach the heights of HoYoverse games. Yes, there are a few outliers such as the highly popular Blue Archive, Nikke, and Arknights, but they’re their own games entirely.

HoYoverse definitely adds a magical touch to their games, and while you may not be a fan of gacha, the overall gameplay in their titles is absolutely phenomenal. They continue to set the new standard over and over again.
