Italian football team Inter Milan has enlisted esports organisation Mkers to increase its presence in esports.
According to the announcement, the club aims to further develop its esports ambitions and will utilise the assistance of Mkers to improve its esports segment in the future.
As a result of the partnership, the two companies will collaborate on a new eFootball roster.
As the current champion of Serie A, Italyās top-flight football league, Inter Milan is one of the most successful clubs in the country. The club first entered esports in 2020 through a partnership with another Italian company, esports organisation QLASH. The club subsequently announced a FIFA 21 roster and has competed in FIFA 21 and 22.
The club announced a partnership with game developer KONAMI in the summer of 2022, which saw the club no longer appear in FIFA games. Because of that, Interās esports players will now compete in eFootball, KONAMIās football simulation game. The players will participate in KONAMI cups on local and international stages, with a new roster set to be announced on November 27th at the Milan Games Week.
Mkers received an investment from former A.S Roma and Italian national football team midfielder Daniele De Rossi in 2019.
Alessandro Antonello, CEO at FC Internazionale Milano, commented: āWorking with a leading firm in gaming such as Mkers allows our Club to further develop the esports project, which is of great strategic importance to Inter in terms of continuing to innovate and connect with the younger generations around the world.ā
