If you’re looking for your next Resident Evil fix, you might be wondering if Resident Evil Village will be coming to Xbox Game Pass. Here’s what you need to know.

The eighth main entry into Capcom’s Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Village, launched earlier this year in May. The game is a direct sequel to 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, which saw the franchise shift into a first-person perspective. In RE Village players once again take control of Ethan Winters who, along with his wife Mia and infant daughter Rosemary, have been relocated to a strange European village by Chris Redfield. Naturally, it doesn’t take long before things take a brutal turn and Ethan once again finds himself at the mercy of the horrors.

Those who haven’t yet had the chance to play through this gothic-inspired survival horror might be waiting for it to head to Xbox Game Pass. So, is it likely we’ll see it head to the service soon?

Sadly, Resident Evil Village is not currently on Xbox Game Pass. This doesn’t mean we won’t ever see it head to the subscription service, though. The game’s predecessor, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, is currently on Game Pass, suggesting that Capcom isn’t fully against adding the titles to the service.

It might be that Resident Evil Village is still a bit too fresh to head to Xbox Game Pass just yet. Previous reports from Game Rant suggests that, due to a rumored agreement between Capcom and Sony, Resident Evil Village wouldn’t be available on Game Pass for “at least a year.” While frustrating, this type of agreement isn’t unheard of, and we’ve seen Sony hold exclusivity on games for at least a year in the past.

Should the rumor be true, it’s possible that Resident Evil Village will eventually head to Xbox Game Pass but likely not until after May 2022.
